Job Title: Commercial Loan Relationship Associate
FLSA: Exempt
Function: Commercial Banking
Reports To: Vice President – Commercial Banking
Purpose: Primary goal is to grow, develop, and retain profitable commercial relationships and provide members with an extraordinary experience in accordance with the credit union’s core values.
The combination of local decision making, local delivery, and personalized service are a key component to building long-term relationships.
Provide members with an extraordinary experience in accordance with the credit union’s core values and service promise in support of their small business, investment real estate and/or entrepreneurial loan and deposit needs.
Responsibilities:
Meet with and interview members/potential members to consider commercial service accounts including, but not limited to, loan products and deposit services
Independently generate profitable credit and non-credit opportunities through cultivation of prospects, calling on referral sources, and networking with centers of influence
Establish and negotiate the terms and conditions under which credit may be extended; may include costs, pricing, repayment schedule, and collateral
Collaborate with internal partners to cross sell and promote the Credit Union throughout the region
Represent the credit union in the community by attending various community affairs, participating in credit union designated projects to promote the credit union, and further developing new business opportunities
Work with Credit Administration in the preparation and underwriting of loan requests including gathering and analyzing financial and market data
Present prepared credit requests to the appropriate individual or committee as directed for approval
Responsible for portfolio management of existing member business loan portfolio, including annual renewals, collection of updated financial information, and working with delinquent accounts
Promote and maintain a confidential environment to protect member, employee, and credit union information
Follow all credit union policies, procedures and requirements including, but not limited to, those regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, in addition to all applicable state and federal laws and regulations
Create and promote a positive professional image of one’s self and the credit union
Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or comparable work experience
1-3 years of commercial lending, credit analysis, and/or sales experience in the financial services industry
Demonstrated involvement in the community
Understanding of commercial business development techniques and credit decisioning process

Ability to be registered under the SAFE Act required
