Staff Accountant
AVB is currently recruiting for an experienced Staff Accountant.
The primary focus of this position is to provide financial oversight to the Residential Construction Division through various accounting functions and by developing a thorough understanding of the financial construction process and each individual project.
Responsibilities:
Accounts payables, receivables activities, and some general expense invoice entry
Prepare billings and monitor job cost variance reports and research/resolve items that are over or under budget
Establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, title companies, and lenders
Compliance activities, including obtaining vendor W-9’s, proof of insurance, and project Lien Waivers
Lead project close out and profitability review with project team
Assist with monthly close and prepare monthly financial statements and forecast
Improve and streamline existing processes and procedures
Reconciliation activities including customer accounts
Audit, analyze and interpret financial data
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or Associate degree with commensurate experience
1+ year of relevant accounting experience
Prior experience with Sage Timberline, hh2, and Buildertrend software is a plus
Prior experience in the construction industry is a plus
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to prioritize workload and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications
Team player who can effectively interact with team members and clients
