Role Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is a key member of the Finance team.
This position is responsible for supporting the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department.
The Staff Accountant position is integral to maintaining the financial health of the company, providing accurate and timely financial information, and supporting strategic decision-making processes.
Exciting work you will do:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Staff Accountant will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform accounting functions for general ledger accountability and financial reporting in accordance with accepted accounting principles
Support the monthly and annual financial closings
Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules; prepare monthly data for general journal entries; ensure proper recording of new purchase and disposals
Assist with sales tax analysis, return preparation, and third party audits
Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, prepaid expenses and accruals
Assist with the annual audit and fulfill requests as made by the audit staff
Provide monthly expense analysis to Vice President of Finance and Controller
Other duties and projects as assigned

What you’ll need:
Work Experience: 2 years’ experience in accounting
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an emphasis in accounting
Analytics/Computer Skills: Strong accounting knowledge; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Organization Skills: Attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; good judgement and problem-solving skills
Cross-functional skills: Ability to manage relationships both externally and internally; highly motivated self-starter
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong phone presence and listening skills
