JobID: 6004 Position Type: Administrative Support/Data Processing Date Posted: 11/27/2023 Location: APS Central Office District: Allegan Public Schools - website PUPIL ACCOUNTANT & STUDENT DATA SERVICES SPECIALIST Allegan Public Schools is seeking a dynamic self-starter to fulfill the role of Pupil Accountant and Student Data Services Specialist.
This individual will ensure that the integrity of student data is sound from enrollment through pupil count and state reporting.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: MSBO Pupil Accounting Specialist Certification or ability to attain certification required.
Experience with Powerschool student information system.
Prior experience in data collection and analysis.
Technical skills with Microsoft Office and Google Suite required.
Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, PRINCIPAL DUTIES, AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains integrity of all confidential material.
Prepares, maintains, and submits state and federal reporting requirements including but not limited to: Fall/Spring/EOY Count, Section 25, Teacher Student Data Link (TSDL), Michigan Student Data System (MSDS), School Infrastructure Database (SID), 31a At-Risk, CRDC, Michigan Data Hub, Graduation and Dropout (GAD), Student Record Maintenance (SRM), and all other submissions as required by the State of Michigan and US Department of Education Provides training and assistance to secretaries and building administrators for pupil accounting related functions, state and federal reporting requirements, student information system, and other student data related systems.
Maintains all Universal Identifier Codes (UIC) district wide and resolves as necessary.
Ensures student data accuracy within state and local assessment systems and web based curricular and intervention programs.
Monitors building level compliance with student data requirements on a regular basis.
Works in coordination with elementary secretaries to create the elementary schedule within Powerschool.
Serves as the district administrator of and establishes and maintains user rights and functionality in Powerschool.
Works with the technology department to ensure data security and preservation as needed.
Maintains and troubleshoots the gradebook interface within Powerschool.
Develops and coordinates procedures for student centralized enrollment, student transfers, and schools of choice.
Maintains procedures used to archive historical data and retrieve historical data upon request.
Supervise the process to ensure that school calendars and instructional hours comply with the current State School Aid Act/Revised School Code.
Develops, maintains, and implements data sharing agreements with external entities in compliance with all state and federal laws such as those pertaining to confidentiality of student records and information.
Actively participate in state conferences, workshops, and professional development for Pupil Accountants.
Assists other members of the Central Office staff as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently walking and standing.
In addition, the employee may frequently bend or twist at the neck and back.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and close vision such as to read typewritten material.
The employee may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
