Day Camp Counselor

*Purpose of the Role: *Day Camp Counselors play a vital role in enhancing the inclusive day camp experience at Ripple Effects Community Inclusion Center by directly assisting with daily activities, ensuring each camper's needs are met, supporting the Lead Counselor in various tasks and contributing to an fun and enjoyable experience for all.
*Key Responsibilities:* _*Camper Support:*_ * Assist in guiding campers through daily activities.
* Provide individual support and encouragement to campers as needed.
_*Safety Monitoring:*_ * Ensure camper safety during all camp activities and outings.
* Respond promptly and effectively to any safety concerns or incidents.
_*Activity Facilitation:*_ * Help set up and lead engaging camp activities and games.
* Collaborate with the Lead Counselor to adapt activities to camper needs.
_*Team Collaboration:*_ * Work closely with the Lead and Junior Counselors to provide a cohesive team environment.
* Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of camp programs.
*Requirements:* * Previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp or educational setting.
* Be at least 18 years of age.
* First aid certification preferred.
* High School Diploma required; additional certification or training in disability support or related fields preferred.
* Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly in a community center or group setting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to engage effectively with diverse client populations.
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing supportive and empowering care.
* Ability to work flexibly in response to varying program needs and client preferences.
* Completion of any required background checks.
* Adherence to ethical standards and a commitment to the mission and values of Ripple Effects Community Inclusion Center.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: Up to $14.
