Job Description:
Assistant teachers are responsible for the learning, safety and professionalism of their assigned classroom, as well as supporting their Lead Teacher, their assigned classroom, and the center.
These teachers are expected to engage with their classroom during all times of the day.
This includes events such as: Large Group, Small Group, Story Time, Dressing to go Outside, Potty Training, Planning Time, Etc.
Assistant teachers help create activity items, gather supplies for future events, and plan with their leads.
Assistant teachers ensure cleanliness in their classrooms by actively participating in daily cleaning tasks as assigned by the Director of Lead Teacher.
Assistant teachers are flexible and can move to different classrooms to sub for a teacher who is not in attendance.
Assistant teachers are expected to arrive at work on time and be ready to work as they walk in the door.
All personal matters will be dealt with outside of the work place.
Assistant teachers answer to their Lead Teacher for day to day instructions and their Director for all administrative tasks and information.
Finally, Assistant Teachers accept the role of keeping Christ at heart and sharing His teachings with the classroom so that the children may learn core concepts like patience, respect, responsibility and integrity.
Job Responsibilites:
· Comply with all licensing requirements
· Anecdotal note recording and compiling
· Supporting the classroom through the posted routine and adjusting daily routines to accommodate their student’s needs
· Maintaining a clean, kind and safe learning environment
· Model conscious discipline in your classroom
· Attend 24 hours of professional development trainings during each calendar year either in person and/or in a virtual setting
· Attend Bi-monthly staff meetings
· Abide by all policies outlined in the employee handbook
· Arrive at work on time every day
· Dress appropriately for teaching young children (Modest, neat, clean.
No rips, stains, holes in clothing.
Flexible enough for sitting on the floor and dancing with children).
Wear lanyard with ID badge for quick identification.
· Practice emergency drills with their students regularly
· Participate in Holiday activities (classroom parties, Christmas Program, Homecoming parade, etc.
)
· Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.
50 - $11.
00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
Schedule:
* 4 hour shift
* Monday to Friday
Experience:
* Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
* Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
* Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
