Role Summary: The primary responsibility of the Services Engineer is to provide automation service which may include but not be limited to, Drive Start-Ups, Installed Based Evaluations of Automation Equipment, and other Automation, Control, Software and Server support.
This role would use solutions such as Studio 5000, Logix 5000, FactoryTalk View, Historians, and VMWare in their work with our customers.
These services are offered as part of Kendall's Authorized Service Provider program with Rockwell Automation and as a representative of Kendall Connected Services.
Exciting work you will do: The essential duties and responsibilities of the Services Engineer position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Working with our manufacturing customers to evaluate needs, define a Scope of Work & provide on-site services to help accomplish specific automation goals Help provide phased proposals & implement software solutions that support Digital Transformation and Manufacturing 4.
0 goals of our customers Provide other evaluation, project, and service proposals based on additional customer needs Independently complete the services defined and committed to in any proposal scope of work Effectively manage customer expectations and complete on-site work on a time and material type basis for various services and solutions Prepare and provide summary and final customer documentation at completion of work Other duties as assigned Competencies you possess: Service Excellence Results, Action Oriented Accountability and Responsibility Teamwork and Collaboration Decision Quality Displaying Technical Expertise Time Management Safety Conscious What you’ll need: Experience: Understanding and 5+ years’ experience in programming Automation Equipment with emphasis on Rockwell Automation including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC 500, FactoryTalk View ME/SE, and associated networks and software Familiar with test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, meggars, and other Basic understanding of Electrical and Mechanical principles Familiar with Electricity and Safety Standards for safe electrical work environments Knowledge of Industrial Networks (Ethernet/IP) Strong Automation Control / HMI application knowledge Knowledge of motor control, harmonics, regeneration, motion control and mechanical solutions Knowledge and understanding of Safety and Sensing concepts Able to read an electrical one-line diagrams Education: bachelor’s degree in engineering or Technology diploma in related technical field, or equivalent experience Analytics/Computer Skills: Proficient with Automation and Controls design and layout software; Microsoft Office Suite; basic understanding of motor control, harmonics, and regeneration; basic understanding of motion control and mechanical concepts and solutions Organization Skills: Excellent work ethic; good verbal, time management and communication skills; ability to work independently and as a part of a team Cross-functional skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment; ability to explain your work and/or train others Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal communications, analytical and problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
