*Executive Director (Part-Time)*
The Miracle League provides a safe and fun environment where kids with disabilities can enjoy themselves and experience the camaraderie of playing baseball in a field all their own.
The Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and lets them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime.
*Job: *Executive Director *Hours: *Part-time, average 10 hours a week with flexible schedule *Pay: *$15,000 per year *Location: *Hybrid – Remote work and in person attendance required for major events and monthly board meetings in Schoolcraft.
Committee meeting location and frequency TBD.
*Summary* Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) leads staff, volunteers, and committees to achieve the Miracle Leagues’ objectives and funding goals.
The ED leads day to day operations, strategic planning, programs, finances, marketing, community outreach and player and volunteer recruiting.
With a strong passion for the mission, the ED builds relationships, leads with integrity, and values an inclusive environment where every child deserves a chance to play baseball.
*Essential Duties:* * In collaboration with the Board, develop and drive a strategic plan, ensuring effective resources to ensure a positive impact on the kids and community we serve.
* Develop, coordinate, and oversee quality programs, events, and volunteers, with a strong attention to detail.
Evaluate program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
* Under direction of the Board, recruit a diverse Board of Directors representative of the community we serve, who believe in the mission, and are willing to assist and ensure the overall strength of the organization.
* Attend monthly Board meetings, and coordinate and attend committee meetings.
Ensure ongoing and open communication about the organization with the Board.
* Recruit, lead and engage staff, volunteers, and contractors, so they are passionate about the mission.
Communicate clear expectations and hold them accountable, ensuring outcomes aligned with the strategic plan.
* In conjunction with the Fund Development Committee, design a fund development plan and lead fundraising efforts including gifts and campaigns, special events, corporate sponsorships, individual giving, and preparation of grants.
* In partnership with the Finance Committee, create and manage the budget with fiscal oversight, ensuring overall financial health.
* Serve as a visible leader in the community, cultivating and maintaining relationships with key donors, funders, and partners.
Continually educate the community about the mission and programs.
* Prepare, update, and oversee adherence to Miracle League by-laws, policies, and procedures.
* Lead daily operations, including but not limited to, filing critical documents with government and other agencies, checking mailbox, making bank deposits, and transferring funds when needed.
* Passion for inclusion while promoting an equitable and inclusive environment and helping individuals reach their full potential both on and off the baseball field * Perform other duties as required.
*Education and Experience Requirements* * Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
* Associate degree is required.
* Demonstrated experience in fundraising and building community relationships is required.
* Grant writing experience is preferred.
*Skills and other Competencies* * Strong business acumen with understanding of budget development and administration * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with executive presence and proven ability to present information and build and maintain successful partnerships.
* A heart for the mission with an understanding and ability to embrace the community we serve.
* Strong manager of people with ability to set expectations, hold people accountable, have direct conversations and promote a team culture.
* Solid technical skills in Microsoft programs with the aptitude to learn new systems as needed.
* Strategic thinker with ability to problem solve, exercise good judgement, and implement solutions.
* Self-motivated and results driven with strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently, and to successfully set and meet deadlines *Other Requirements* * Must pass background check and drug screen.
* Must have access to reliable transportation with a clean driving record.
