Job Title: Director of Core Systems
FLSA: Exempt
Function: Information Technology
Reports To: Vice President of Information Technology
Purpose: Management and oversight of the credit union’s core system, ancillary systems, and third-party integrations.
Provide support to the Vice President of Information Technology.
Provide escalated support to the department staff.
Promote positive employee relations and morale.
Direct staff in such a way that allows them to provide members with an extraordinary experience in accordance with the credit union’s core values and service promise.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a high-level knowledge and engagement with core platform and integrations
Manage and oversee product research, service, development, and implementation across multiple business lines
Oversee coordination of product/service upgrades across multiple business lines
Provide management and oversight of internal and external support cases, report monthly metrics
Serve as core platform liaison between credit union and core provider
Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Core Systems Department
Lead team of Product Managers to support multiple business areas of the credit union
Mentor, encourage, and coach team to foster a supportive work environment
Identify and address staff developmental needs
Manage staff assignments, training, and development
Complete quarterly and annual performance evaluations
Align with the Vice President of Information Technology to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
Act as a key contributor and subject matter expert (SME) for strategic projects
Oversee departmental projects and work with team to ensure departmental projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget
Assist with the preparation, implementation, and supervision of the department budget
Act as a liaison between the Core Systems Product Managers and the Vice President of Information Technology
Work with the Vice President of Information Technology to prioritize projects
Assist in the execution of the credit union’s strategic goals
Ensure that all internal/external audit and compliance procedures are being followed
Ensure that staff and oneself understands and complies with all credit union policies, procedures, and requirements, including all applicable state and federal laws and regulations
Promote and maintain a confidential environment to protect member, employee, and credit union information
Create and promote a positive professional image of oneself and the credit union
Promote positive employee relations and morale
Exemplify the credit union’s core purpose, core values, and service promise
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.
g.
, information technology certifications in lieu of a degree)
Five to eight years of similar or related experience
One to two years management experience required, preferably in the financial services industry
Financial institution experience and/or credit union experience strongly preferred
Skills, Abilities, and other Requirements:
Strong computer and application skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and grammar skills, with the ability to communicate technical information in an easy-to-understand and effective manner
Strong presentation skills
Ability to be bonded required
Ability to successfully organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities
