*Purpose of the Role: *Lead Day Camp Counselors are pivotal in orchestrating the daily activities and managing the overall inclusive day camp experience for their respective age groups.
They are responsible for creating an engaging, safe, and educational environment that aligns with Ripple Effects Community Inclusion Center’s values.
*Key Responsibilities:* _*Program Development and Execution:*_ * Assist in designing a diverse array of camp activities that promote learning, creativity, and physical health.
* Ensure the smooth execution of the daily camp schedule and adjust as needed for optimal camper experiences.
_*Team Leadership and Staff Development:*_ * Provide leadership and direction to Support and Junior Counselors, fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing training to ensure high-quality camp programming.
_*Safety and Compliance Oversight:*_ * Enforce all camp safety protocols and conduct emergency response drills.
* Stay current with compliance requirements and implement policy updates promptly.
_*Community and Parent Engagement:*_ * Maintain open lines of communication with parents, providing regular updates on camp activities and camper progress.
* Cultivate a sense of community within the camp, encouraging participation in special events and collaborative projects.
*Requirements:* * Previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp or educational setting.
* Be at least 18 years of age.
* First aid certification preferred.
* High School Diploma required; additional certification or training in disability support or related fields preferred.
* Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly in a community center or group setting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to engage effectively with diverse client populations.
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing supportive and empowering care.
* Ability to work flexibly in response to varying program needs and client preferences.
* Completion of any required background checks.
* Adherence to ethical standards and a commitment to the mission and values of Ripple Effects Community Inclusion Center.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: Up to $15.
