JobID: 5939 Position Type: Student Support Services/Noon Hour Supervisor Date Posted: 10/12/2023 Location: Allegan Public Schools District: Allegan Public Schools - website SUBSTITUTE BEFORE SCHOOL & NOON HOUR SUPERVISOR - ELEMENTARY LEVEL LOCATION: Dawson, West Ward, Pine Trails, or North Ward Elementary SUMMARY: To provide assistance for children during lunch, before or after school.
This person must supervise students to ensure a positive safe environment during recess time, lunch and getting on/off the school bus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Supervises students at playtime and lunchtime and maintains a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Organizes group games and activities during recess.
Assumes responsibility to report any defects in playground equipment.
Directs movement of groups to and from the playground, lunchroom, school bus and classrooms in a safe and organized manner.
Assists students in the lunchroom clean up.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
