Reports to the President.
Serving as a member of the hospitals senior leadership team.
This position requires a leader with a strategic mindset and ability to identify, develop, and execute on strategies and tactics that drive our growth with a strong bias for action.
The ability to model inclusive behaviors, collaborate with others internal and external to the organization, build effective teams, and develop talent at a leadership level are critical for success in this position.
Working through the management team, is responsible for the administrative oversight and direction of professional and support services departments including: Imaging, Cardiopulmonary, Sleep, Pharmacy Services, Laboratory, Plant Operations, Security, Environmental Services, Outpatient Therapies, Wound Clinic and Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Oversees the managerial functions of setting objectives, planning, staffing, and directing the activities of assigned departments/areas of responsibility.

Provides quality and financial management by: Directing quality initiatives, planning implementation and completing evaluations of indicators and results.
Assisting in the preparation of annual hospital/department capital and operational budgets and allocation of funds based upon reviews of department estimates/recommendations.
Monitoring and overseeing monthly financial reports and initiating appropriate actions Familiarity with operating procedures and cost/revenue projections and reviewing all department requests for capital expense items and submitting same, with recommendations to President.
Ensuring the efficient, economic, and quality performance of assigned departments of responsibility to support or provide quality health care services.
Utilizing and ensuring continuous quality improvement philosophies, techniques and tools in all aspects of the position that are consistent with the Hospital's collaborative QI plan.
Achieving financial and market share targets, in concert with the strategic plan.
Exploring creative alternative care settings to achieve highest possible quality and lowest possible cost (best value) with appropriate utilization, case management and emphasis on prevention.
Ensuring departments comply with federal and state laws and regulations, and regulatory agencies as well as other accrediting or certifying organizations.
Provides leadership and directs operational activities to ensure the provision of high quality services by: Supporting the vision and strategy through the formation and implementation of goals and objectives Leading department heads in the development of operating plans and maintaining and updating policies which support Beacon Health System and Three Rivers Health goals, improve quality and reduces the cost of health care for our patients.
Participating in hospital/medical staff and community committee meetings and activities as required.
Participating in health system initiatives and projects as required.
Assisting the senior leadership team by participating in the hospitals short and long range planning function.
Develops and maintains interpersonal relationships by: Communicating and relating effectively with all types and levels of people inside and outside the organization; also demonstrating respect for all and building trust.
Facilitates collaborative relationships among disciplines/departments to ensure effective, quality patient care delivery.
Evaluating staff performance honestly, fairly and in a timely manner, with emphasis on specific developmental plans for performance improvement and individual employee development.
Confronting conflict directly and leading by example to promote an environment in the department(s) and organization that allows for fairness, equity and cooperation.
Sponsoring Beacon Health System values through personal leadership and example, incorporating those values into the daily work of the division.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by: Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Associate complies with the following organizational requirements: Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
Complies with established organization and department policies.
Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration or a related field; a master's degree in a similar discipline is preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills in past positions consistent with and necessary to carry out the mission and leadership philosophy of BHS and the role of the Executive Director are required.
A minimum of ten years of experience in significant administrative leadership position(s), and demonstrated experience working closely with physicians (especially program development and/or partnerships) is required.
Knowledge & Skills Requires high level knowledge of systems integration, organizational development, managed care, capitation, cost/expense, reimbursement and trends and their implications upon the service line(s).
Requires ability to analyze and communicate relevant data and uses creativity in planning, problem solving, goal setting and decision making.
Exhibits high energy level; is able to seize opportunities and is also action oriented.
Requires ability to deal with ambiguity, cope effectively with change (can "shift gears" comfortably) and deal with multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
