JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE: The Design and Analysis Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the design engineering team at our nuclear power plant.
This individual will lead a team of skilled engineers responsible for the conceptualization, design, and implementation of nuclear power plant system modifications, ensuring they meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
The Design and Analysis Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, safety, and regulatory compliance, to drive continuous improvement and innovation in plant design.
This position also serves as the Design Authority for the station.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Team Leadership and Development Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of engineers.
Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence within the engineering team.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Project Management Oversee all design engineering projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, schedule, and quality parameters.
Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and priorities.
Design Oversight Ensure appropriate procedures, codes, and standards are followed in design basis changes and analytical work.
Ensure engineers and supervisors demonstrate appropriate quality and rigor in design and analysis activities Govern design engineering processes, practices, and procedures to industry best practices.
Regulatory Compliance Ensure that all design activities comply with relevant nuclear safety and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies to address compliance issues and implement necessary changes.
Risk Management Identify potential design risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain safety and reliability standards.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement Drive innovation in design engineering practices and technologies to enhance plant performance and safety.
Champion initiatives for process improvement and cost optimization.
Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with operations, safety, maintenance, and other departments to align design efforts with overall plant goals and objectives.
Provide technical expertise and support for plant modifications and upgrades.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum education required of the position BS Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or Equivalent Experience.
(Equivalent Experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Manager level.
A degree is very strongly preferred.
) Minimum experience required of the position 8 years’ experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, P&SO, or equivalent.
5 years of supervisory/management experience in an operating nuclear power plant environment.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position None Any certificates, licenses, etc.
required for the position SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR (desired).
Professional engineering license (desired).
Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.

A maximum of 2 years of the remaining 6 years’ experience may be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic or related technical training.
