JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Systems and Programs Engineering Manager is a pivotal leadership role within our nuclear power plant.
This position oversees the Systems Engineering and Programs teams, ensuring the effective design, implementation, and maintenance of critical systems to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
Maintains equipment reliability through preventive maintenance optimization.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning
Develop and implement long-term engineering strategies aligned with the plant's objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems integration and alignment with regulatory requirements.
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Engineers and Supervisors.
Foster a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement within the engineering department and throughout the site.
Program Management
Direct the planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering programs, including upgrades, maintenance, and enhancements.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness.
Regulatory Compliance
Monitor and interpret relevant regulatory requirements and ensure compliance in all engineering activities.
Interface with regulatory agencies to address inquiries and inspections.
Ensure ASME and NRC requirements are met.
Risk Management
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with systems and programs engineering activities.
Implement proactive measures to prevent potential incidents or failures.
Budget Oversight
Collaborate with the Finance department to develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Collaboration and Communication
Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Maintenance, and Safety teams.
Communicate effectively on engineering initiatives, progress, and challenges.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position:
BS Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or Equivalent Experience.
(Equivalent Experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Manager level.
A degree is very strongly preferred.

Minimum experience required of the position:
8 years’ experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, P&SO, or equivalent.
5 years of supervisory/management experience in an operating nuclear power plant environment.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

Any certificates, licenses, etc.
required for the position:
SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR (desired).
Professional engineering license (desired).
Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.
