Assistant Operations Manager - Support
Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking an Assistant Operations Manager – Support to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the industry and the nation! JOB SUMMARY Responsible for operations department shift coverage and scheduling.
JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES Assumes licensed operator responsibilities and authority of Operations leadership during absences.
Assures adequate shift coverage to support all activities during all aspects of plant operation.
Plans, schedules, and supervises the administrative/engineering activities and technical specification requirements.
Assists Operations leadership in the annual performance appraisal process.
Recommends changes to existing methods, procedures, and processes to improve overall plant and department activities.
Reviews proposed plant changes and recommendations of department personnel for operational impact.
Ensuring the Work Management Process is flawlessly implemented.
Ensuring Operations work activities are executed per the schedule.
Oversight of the Work Management Center and associated areas of responsibilities including evaluating and managing risk due to external events and emergent issues; developing tag outs to place equipment in a safe condition to perform work; performing AS Operations Impact Assessment of work order tasks; interacting with personnel in the scope development process.
Assists in the preparation, administration, and cognizance of the Operations Department budget and provides periodic budget status.
Maintains a Senior Reactor Operator License or Certification.
Serves as duty on call Operations Manager.
Serves as a member of the OSRC, MRC, TOC, and TRG.
Is thoroughly familiar with the conditions and limitations of the plant operating license and technical specifications and ensures that these limitations are not exceeded.
Undertakes reports, instructions, procedures, or missions to improve facility operations.
Terminates any plant activity which could jeopardize personnel safety or safe plant operation.
Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.
Participates in the shared resources program.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum education required of the position: B.
S.
in Engineering or physical sciences or U.
S.
Navy nuclear program training and experience or Equivalent Experience.
(Equivalent Experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Manager level.
A degree is very strongly preferred.
) Minimum experience required of the position: 8 years of power plant experience of which a minimum of 3 years must be nuclear power plant experience.
A maximum of 2 years of the remaining 5 years of power plant experience may be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic or technical training on a one for one basis.
5 years’ experience in the Operations Department.
Experience with managing union contract employees.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position: Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
Proficiency with current computer business applications.
This position requires bench strength.
Any certificates, licenses, etc.
, required for the position: SRO license except as permitted by the facility operating license.
Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.
1-1978, except managers required to hold SRO license are specified in Technical Specification (TS).
