Description: The Kalamazoo Growlers and Kalamazoo Concessions are looking for a hard working, enthusiastic applicants to take over as Food & Beverage manager at Kalamazoo Growlers baseball games, WMU Athletics concessions, Outlier Events food festivals and more.
The Food and Beverage Manager will oversee concessions sales, hospitality service, food and bev orders and inventory tracking, concessions staff management, vendor relations and more.
Applicant should enjoy high-paced sports atmosphere, be a team player, and bring new, creative ideas while improving current staples.
About the Organizations: The Kalamazoo Growlers are a 2014 Northwoods League expansion team, 2022 Northwoods League Championship team, and have become one of the most premier sports and entertainment companies in the Nation, winning organization of the year in 2016, 2020 and 2022.
The Growlers continue the rich history of baseball in Kalamazoo, carrying on the tradition of the Kalamazoo Kodiaks and Kalamazoo Kings.
Homer Stryker Field, a 3,000-seat park located in Kalamazoo’s Mayors Riverfront Park is the home field of the Growlers.
The Kalamazoo Growlers concessions wing, Kalamazoo Concessions, operates all concessions and hospitality at Kalamazoo Growlers games, as well as Concessions at WMU Athletic events, Outlier Events food festivals, catering and more.

The Northwoods League is a summer baseball league comprised of teams of the top college players from across North America.
The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America.
Each team is operated similar to a professional minor league team, providing players an opportunity to play under the same conditions using wooden bats, minor league specification baseballs, experiencing overnight road trips, and playing nightly before thousands of fans.
Qualifications •College or University Degree in business-related major or minor •Minimum 5 years experience in food-related or concessions industry, 2 years management experience •Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment •Ability to make sound business/operations decisions quickly and under pressure •Ability to use computer applications: Microsoft office, Google Suite, POS systems, Etc.
•Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment •Possess valid Food Handlers certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required by state or local government •Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc.
pertaining to concession and hospitality operations •Ability to calculate basic and complex math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) •Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly •Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality •Ability to work independently with little direction Responsibilities •The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for the efficient, professional and profitable operation of the food service operations for Kalamazoo Growlers Baseball, WMU Concessions and Outlier Events •This individual ultimately oversees all managerial details and ensures full compliance with state and federal labor laws, sanitation and food-related ordinances, and alcohol service regulations •Ensure legal, efficient, professional and profitable operation of the assigned F&B Operations •Generate and review financial reports, including budgets, projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, labor and product costs.
•Input on equipment investments and other purchases •Conflict resolution •Create, review and amend policies & procedures, as required •Oversee scheduling and labor allocation •Analyze ticket sales in relation to anticipating staffing and inventory needs, determine and project point-of sale to guest ratio and Hospitality usage rates •Evaluate recent historical sales and purchasing data for the purpose of identifying purchasing patterns and accurate cost of goods •Program and maintain the point of sale system to ensure accurate financial reporting, tracking of accountability, and commodity levels by location •Directs and assists area supervisors and interns in preparing and attaining future goals •Provides each area supervisor and interns with the proper direction and follows up on all assignments •Inspects the operation on a regular basis to ensure that the established quality standards are maintained •Prepares required reports accurately and submits them on time, follows up with department heads to ensure that their reporting is completed within the same guidelines •Establishes and maintains personal relationships with employees, suppliers, vendors and the public that projects the venue in a positive light We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
