You will be responsible for activities involved in interpreting, recommending and compliance with fire code, building code, and safety regulations/company policies, and also assist in planning the changes in physical facilities to meet those requirements.
Your strong knowledge base will guide updates to policies and procedures to ensure safe storage of hazardous materials & compliance with fire & life safety codes and requirements.
Your expertise in this field will be leveraged for providing inputs to Pfizer corporate policy and interpretation of new regulatory requirements.
As a Manager, you provide guidance to operational teams for managing projects and serving as a subject matter expert.
Your planning skills will help in preparing forecasts for resource requirements, and providing areas of improvement for products, processes or services.
Through your comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts and theories of the discipline, you will also work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies.
You will be able to take a leadership role to facilitate agreements between different teams.

How You Will Achieve It Maintain, account for changes, and make improvements in accordance with standards for fixed fire protections, managing material storage with respect to fire loading and hazardous material characterization, building construction (separations, segregations between hazard class operations), alert systems, and water supply systems maintenance.
Provide knowledge of applicable standards under NFPA, Michigan Building Code, International Fire Code to project teams across Pfizer.
Be a conduit for property insurance reviews on major projects.
Point person for insurance audits and coordinate resolution for findings.
Liaison between the City of Portage (primarily the Building Inspector and Fire Marshal) and the site.
Be a conduit between project engineering and the City for up-front involvement on projects that can have impact on Life Safety.
Act as the site Loss Control Committee Chair.
Work with project engineering and maintain a cooperative policy to provide the individual attention on projects that can impact Loss Control and Risk Management.
Recognize needs for additional involvement of other EHS subject matter experts.
Lead the development and revision of emergency shutdown procedures for fire systems.
Evaluate capital investments and changes and define actions required to implement to assure risk reduction and compliance.
Development of procedures and trainings.
Qualifications Must-Have Applicant must have HS Diploma with 10 years of relevant experience.
OR an Associate's degree with 8 years of experience.
OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience.
OR a Master’s degree with more than 3 years of experience.
OR a Ph.
D.
with 0-2 years of experience.
Demonstrated working knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements including NFPA and building codes.
