Job Title: Director of Facilities Services and Construction Management Services
Location: Unassigned or Multiple Locations
Full-Time/Part-Time: Full Time
Pay Rate: Minimum of $81,903 per year.

BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY: A primary responsibility of all persons assigned to this job title is to support the instructional mission of the institution and to promote positive student and customer relations.
Plan, direct and evaluate the operational, financial and personnel activities of the units within the Facilities Services Department.
Responsible for all building, remodeling, renovation and construction projects at all college facilities and for events scheduling CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the characteristic duties, knowledge, skills, abilities noted herein, however, this list represents EXAMPLES ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions found in this job classification.
Plan, direct and evaluate the operational, financial and personnel activities of the custodial, maintenance, grounds/vehicles, materials handling and event scheduling services; provide administrative leadership and supervision for assigned units; prepare annual operating budget recommendations; develop, implement and monitor budget controls; and, develop, implement and administer departmental operating policies and procedures.
Recommend hire, orient, train, and evaluate departmental employees through supervisory staff; monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs; and, implement, in conjunction with the Human Resources Office, effective human resource practices.
Coordinate departmental activities with other institutional offices/administrators; provide assistance to requesting departments; and, represent the department in meetings involving institutional, community or state representatives.
Coordinate long range planning activities for facilities development, building upgrades/modifications and equipment replacement schedules; coordinate and assist with all activities related to the design, development, remodeling and new construction at all institutional facilities as assigned; monitor systems operations for federal, state and local compliance with safety and related regulations; manage contracted services for department; monitor building and grounds for safety and emergency preparations, first aid services, inclement weather conditions, fire protection and related safety equipment; and, serve as administrator for emergency response, environmental safety concerns, Americans With Disabilities Act facility accessibility and vehicle use issues.
REPORTS TO: | EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT FOR ENROLLMENT AND CAMPUS OPERATIONS SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Administrative and functional supervision is exercised over approximately seven full-time employees and a varying number of part-time employees.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of acceptable facilities methods and practices.
Knowledge of quality and costs of building and maintenance materials/equipment.
Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
Knowledge of acceptable supervisory practices.
Knowledge of institutional policies and procedures.
Knowledge of maintenance and building systems.
Knowledge of custodial operations.
Knowledge of grounds maintenance.
Skill in inspecting job sites for quality and compliance with various codes and regulations.
Skill in planning and directing the work of subordinates.
Skill in researching and analyzing data and reports.
Skill in making oral and written presentations.
| Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate work experience and education are required.
An example of this would be a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field and experience equivalent to four years of industrial operations or related work, including three years supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Additional consideration for applicants holding a construction or builders license Physical Demands: Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; some evening or weekend hours may be required as needed.
