This position is responsible for the continuous improvement project action item list as well as managing/developing interns.
The Quality Manager works closely with Company Sales and CTS (Customer Technical Services) teams and serves as the main liaison between all customers and the plant production team to address customer concerns.
*Responsibilites*
* Research and respond to customer claims promptly to minimize the occurrence of aged claims.
* Engage in customer visits as necessary to maintain strong client relationships.
* Provide direction for the internship program/ interns.
* Coordinate trial planning within the mill, ensuring accurate record-keeping in the trial log.
* Regularly review and update the FDA-approved chemical list, maintaining the integrity of our document control system.
* Lead Kepner Tregoe (KT) problem-solving events as per schedule.
* Actively participate in departmental meetings, contributing to team discussions and decision-making processes.
* Allocate job assignments and develop training plans for team members.
* Be involved in lab activities, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to protocols.
* Facilitate frequent interactions between the GPI Sales team and Corporate Customer Technical Services to ensure cohesive operations.
* Complete Six Sigma projects, utilizing lean methodology to enhance problem-solving processes.
* Manage Technical Lab operations.
* Perform additional duties as required to support the department and company goals.
*Required Skills*
* Proven experience in a test lab environment.
* A strong commitment to safety, promoting and supporting a safe workplace.
* Willingness to travel as needed for customer support.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
* Availability for On-call/weekend duty rotations.
* Experience in leading or participating in KT Training is highly desirable.
* Understanding of printing press runnability.
* Familiarity with SAP.
* Exceptional organizational skills.
* Proven leadership abilities, with a focus on developing teams and achieving results.
* Ability to balance and achieve positive outcomes in safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and employee relations.
* A keen eye for detail and a quality-oriented mindset.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.
