Job Title: Production Lead

SUMMARY
The Production Lead helps a group of production team members in manufacturing, assembling, and/or transporting materials and customer parts.
This role monitors the production process to ensure quality products are safely produced on time and at cost.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assures adherence to safety policies, PPE requirements, and documentation reporting of incidents.
Ensures Quality through attention to detail, audits, and good record keeping.
Guides people, parts, and process flow to maximize efficiency, cost, and on time delivery.
Understands and improves 5S.
Leads productive communication meetings to review performance and information with the team.
Helps create work schedules and determines work assignments to meet goals.
Interprets and analyzes work orders, production schedules, specifications, equipment requirements, and other documentation in order to decide, communicate, and meet requirements.
Excellent trainer and supports cross training.
Ensure effective training and adherence to standards, work instructions, and expectations.
Ability to flex beyond shift hours for setup, training, development, or other team support needs.
Eager to learn and helps with special projects like new part or process evaluations.
Forklift certification and/or company vehicle license as needed by area (preferred).
Ability to document performance and dismiss people when warranted in the Supervisor absence.
Collaborate with adjacent production leadership in other areas or shifts to achieve shared goals.
Provide weekend coverage where needed to ensure the production schedule is completed.
Maintains a production floor presence at all times and fulfills other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience in a metal manufacturing environment, preferably at MC.

Motivated by mentoring, teaching, and coaching all team members in their development.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with direct reports, peers, and management.

Self-starter, independent, and productive.
Excellent technical understanding of relevant machinery, processes etc.
Ability to apply common understanding and carry out instructions in written, oral, or visual form.
Ability to problem solve and demonstrate resourcefulness.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, protective shoes/boots.
Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
