This Flowserve site is part of AMSS division and one of the largest manufacturing facilities within the AMSS NA division.
This specific site supports several OEM customers, regional manufacturing QRC’s and international affiliates.
This site makes highly engineered seal products that is high mix and low volume.
Unit of lot is usually 1 or 2 orders, thus highly controlled production order tracking and quality system environment we operate in.
The Quality Manager for the site must exhibit a high level of technical competence in quality management system, an understanding of business processes, and a thorough knowledge of regulatory, and quality compliance procedures that relate to business needs but not limited to ISO, NAIC, and NUPIC compliances.
This position provides leadership and strategy for the site wide Quality function improvement and execution.
This position is responsible for all elements of Quality Management system including but not limited to establishing and maintaining sitewide Quality assurance system, and regulatory and compliance certificates and supports the QRC sites in achieving the compliance and necessary quality certifications.
This individual will own the goals and objectives of quality function for the site including quality KPI’s, returns, warranty, quality assurances, and product quality systems.
Quality leader will collaborate closely across multiple organizations as well business functions and provide strategic leadership to instill quality procedures, programs, and adherence to these programs across the site.
This position is part of the site leadership team and direct and indirect team members report into this position.
To be successful in this role, the person will have strong people management skills, desire to learn processes, and most important collaboration and teamwork.

Responsibilities but not limited to the following: Engages the site leadership teams to effectively communicate customer, regulatory and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction are met.
Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products inspections.
This also includes managing the repeatability and reproducibility of the inspection department and measurement system.
Work collaboratively with all functions (Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) on Quality matters.
Proactively drive the development of robust quality processes that are used by the business functions to control all aspects that may affect Quality of the product or service being provided.
Report and evaluate monthly and quarterly KPIs with the management and corporate function.
This includes also developing goals to improve these plant KPI’s.
Own the internal quality tracking system to manage and record the quality documentation.
Manages Quality Department budget ensuring that the team is operating within business expectations and manages the Kalamazoo QA team and the Manufacturing Indirect QC team to ensure proper balance of meeting quality targets and operational throughput.
Oversees the effective documentation and implementation of the QMS to assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and the standards set by corporate/division policies.
Maintain corporate corrective action system to analyze and drive corrections of nonconforming conditions and complaints.
Implements the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction and the cost of quality.
In conjunction with supply chain resources, develop and initiate methods to qualify, certify and maintain domestic or low-cost region suppliers in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
Responsible for developing and managing the Material Review Board process.
Develop and implement quality control plan/systems.
Understand GD&T and be able to interpret CMM reports.
Understanding of gages and how these are used to check GD&T measurements.
Collaborating with our company’s quality leadership, you will champion the implementation of the Certificate of Compliance (Quality Cockpit) module at this site and be voice of this site to develop process within this module that meets this site certificate needs.
Lead and facilitate the initiative to improve this site’s product quality, First Pass Yield, Scrap, QN’s and other key quality KPI’s.
You will achieve these improvements through demonstrating your command on problem solving and statistical tools such as but not limited to A-3, 5Y, Six Sigma, run charts, RCA and others.
Displays leadership through building the trust with the team, creating a collaborative environment for everyone to work in, and helping develop the team/talent to reach their collective and individual potentials.
Promote people development by actively engaging in coaching, mentoring, knowledge transfer, training, performance management.
Uses the results of performance evaluation to drive improvements in the individual and team performance that is measured based on metrics and goals.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology or related engineering field or related experience considered.
10+ years of experience in quality function including 5+ years as Quality Manager within a manufacturing organization.
Knowledge of Six Sigma Green Belt and statistical control processes.
Demonstrated experience leading a team of leaders and operational team members.
Preferred experience/skills: SAP S/4 HANA ERP system knowledge highly recommended.
Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor in at least two of the following standards: ISO 9001:2015, NQA-1, NSF 61.
Quality Engineering certification.
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Based on business or customer needs, you may experience 10% - 15% travel, which could include international travel.
Experience working in large organizations.
Knowledge of MS office tools.
