ROLE: Support in the form of installation, repair, and maintenance on all related equipment, buildings, and systems associated with the Pactiv Evergreen manufacturing facility.
Works independently and reports to Shift Team Leader.
SHIFT: The current opening is for NIGHTS, 5:15pm-5:30am with 3 paid breaks, working on our continental schedule (one week; 48 hours or 4 shifts, working Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, the next week; 36 hours or 3 shifts, working Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday) **though you will start on days for training.
** PAY:$29- $35/HR PLUS night shift differential of $1.
00, based on experience KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Diagnose and repair faulty production and related plant equipment with the minimum amount of supervision using the provided schematics, manuals and drawings.
Be able to diagnose and repair electro-mechanical problems, troubleshoot electrical problems and have a strong understanding of preventative maintenance strategies • Identify faulty parts and provide proper nomenclature in the form of a requisition in order that spares or replacements can be ordered • Install equipment and test run • Develop and maintain store room spare parts inventory and establish a withdraw, return and re-order procedure • General working knowledge of machine shop equipment • Must be team-oriented with leadership qualities and capable of leading co-workers in assigned tasks • Will be expected to maintain necessary records and established maintenance procedures • Maintain a clean, safe working environment • Assist with tooling setup and maintenance when needed • Responsible for additional specific duties related to each shift as assigned by Shift Team Leader • Other duties as necessary TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES **Administrative: **Demonstrates ability to accurately post data from one source to another in ERP or peripheral software systems Communication/Teamwork: • Ability to communicate effectively and work closely and productively as part of a cross-functional team • Ability to create and/or exhibit an atmosphere of openness, honesty, trust, and teamwork • Ability to multi-task and prioritize as needed without loss of effectiveness and composure **Safety: **Demonstrates ability to understand and actively participate in all company safety programs, policies and procedures **Quality: **Ability to develop and maintain processes that are ISO compliant Technical Knowledge:Demonstrates an advanced comprehensive knowledge of entire process from concept to commercialization Operate Equipment: • Ability to operate motorized equipment and other peripheral equipment safely and efficiently as required • Demonstrates ability to utilize standard hand tools • Ability to operate basic machine shop equipment Maintenance/Repair: • Demonstrates advanced mechanical aptitude and abilities • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of production technological methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment in manufacturing facilities • Demonstrates the ability to perform electrical trouble shooting, repair and equipment installation • Demonstrate the ability to use electrical meters to include multimeter and amp meter EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • Three to five years of experience in a related field and a mechanical pretest to employment • High school graduate required • Completion of a vocational or trade school curriculum from an authorized school with a concentration in electro-mechanical courses desired • Must be able to read and use precision type instruments such as micrometers and calipers • Speaking and presentation skills to conduct effective meetings ADA – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to: • Work 12 hour shift, standing and walking for extended periods • Climb • Heed safety warnings, devices and alarms • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.
Occasional lifts up to 75 lbs.
All lifts over 75 lbs require 2-person lift or mechanical assistance • Possess an adequate ability to do problem solving and establish cause and affect relationships in an office and/or manufacturing environment **About the area: **Kalamazoo is in the southwest region of Michigan.
