We are looking for a *LEAD PLUMBER* to travel the United States performing *Tankless Water Heating Systems Installations *and, occasionally, other commercial *plumbing projects*.
We work big names in the food, beverage and entertainment industries, providing state-of-the-art custom design-build systems that are proven to provide longevity, space and energy savings! This is a supervisory position reporting to the Director of Plumbing Projects & Production.
*JOB DETAILS:* * *PAY RANGE: *$70,000 - $80,000 / year ( Introductory base salary ) * *ROLE TYPE: *Direct Hire / Permanent / Full Benefits + 401k 1:1 Match * *TRAVEL: *Up to 75% ( Company-Paid Airfare + Hotel + Per Diem ) * *SUPERVISORY: *Yes * *REPORTS TO: *Director of Plumbing Projects & Production As Lead Plumber on our national installation crew, you will oversee the installation, of TANKLESS WATER HEATING SYSTEMS in commercial facilities throughout the domestic United States.
You will be expected to travel up to 75% of the time.
Most travel arrangements will be via ground, but some air travel is expected occasionally.
The Lead Plumber will coordinate directly with subcontractors and direct your own team members, ensuring proper direction of workflow, plumbing procedures, and ultimately, client satisfaction, through safe, timely and accurate project completions.
As Plumbing Lead, you will apply your comprehensive knowledge of building and plumbing codes, including state or local regulations, in the proper installation and/or diagnosis and repair of equipment.
You will ensure the work is performed proactively and correctly, document the work performed, ensure the team is properly logging all materials, and educate/train clients on equipment (as needed).
Your experience with commercial plumbing components (i.
e.
, ISO valves, recirculation pumps, mixers, controllers, expansion tanks and, of course, copper piping), will be valuable, as well your leadership skills in the plumbing arena.
Coaching and training on the job is an important part of your role, and a critical element of the success of our installation crew / helpers, as they continue to support our overall success by building that expertise.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES:* * Leads by example, with a focus on safety, quality, accuracy and timeliness; * Oversees safe and timely installation of commercial tankless water heater systems; * Travels up to 75% of the time, typically via air.
Occasionally travels by ground (<8 hr); * Interfaces closely with sub-contractors, clients, management and team daily; * Physically performs the role alongside team, demonstrating proper plumbing processes and techniques - teaching, coaching and developing; * Diagnoses, troubleshoots or repairs plumbing issues in a proactive manner; * Educates customers on proper operation and maintenance of the equipment; * Electronically documents work performed in all applicable production apps; *WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:* * Works indoors.
Occasional exposure to elements during periods of transitory work, i.
e.
, mobilizing / retrieving equipment or tools, etc.
, but the bulk of work is typically performed in commercial kitchens and mechanical rooms; * Occasionally encounters winter weather hazards during travel or transit (weather-dependent); * Spends large periods of time traveling or in transit (up to 75%) *ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* * Must be able to travel freely via air or ground * Must perform physical work within cramped or small areas such as mechanical closets or under commercial kitchen sinks; * Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently, 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds or more on occasion - or as part of a team lift.
* Must lead in removal of existing equipment - typically, large commercial tank style water heaters (team effort using a dolly / utility cart) * Must be able to use hand and power tools, including working with arms extended in various positions, such as overhead or out in front, for long periods.
* Must be able to work alongside the crew performing standard transitory work - including retrieval, removal, carrying or transporting of equipment and tools *MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:* * MUST possess High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; * MUST be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license (to travel); * MUST have at least 5+ years of recent commercial plumbing experience; * MUST have at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role; * MUST be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications; * MUST successfully complete background and drug screen; * MUST live within 75 miles of shop and be willing and able to travel; * MUST have great verbal and written communication across all levels; * MUST have strong computer skills (spreadsheets, e-logs, email, texting); * MUST be willing and able to get in and work along side team to solve issues; * IDEAL candidates will have valid Journeyperson or Master Plumber license; TO APPLY: *Submit updated resume with full contact details - Thank you!* Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.
