*Entry Level - Sales Engineer (Kalamazoo)*
Rapid Control Service was founded in 1964 to provide resistance welding equipment and service to manufacturers in West Michigan.
Rapid grew quickly, and soon expanded into pneumatics and motion control to better serve our customer base, becoming a complete provider of factory automation components.
The entry level Sales Engineer is a full-time position for a driven person interested in a career in factory automation, supply chain management and distribution.
The position will be required to focus on the greater Kalamazoo area.
*Position Summary*
We are looking for a talented and competitive entry level Sales Engineer that thrives in a quick sales cycle environment.
The Sales Engineer will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.
You must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, meeting with current and potential customers, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and closing sales.
Sales Engineers are supported by our inside customer service team to assist with accurate production information and order coordination.
Work hours and schedules are flexible, especially for highly motivated individuals.
Compensation typically starts as a competitive salary based on experience, transitioning to a combination base/commission package or a complete commission package, all very competitive in our markets.

*Responsibilities, Skills, and Experience*
* Experience in pneumatics and manufacturing a plus.
* Any sales experience a plus
* Proven engineering aptitude and skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to function well in fast-paced environments
* Understand customer needs and requirements
* Respond to customer inquiries, provide quotes, and take customer orders
* Upsell customers
* Interact with customers and suppliers to obtain and fill orders efficiently
* Troubleshoot customer issues
* Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Strong listening and presentation skills
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
* Good customer service and communication skills
* Reliable, organized, detailed, and focused
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook and Excel
*Required Education*
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Engineering degree or equivalent a plus
* Any manufacturing or sales certification a plus
