SUMMARY: The Project Scheduler will serve in the Preconstruction Department and develop detailed project schedules for multiple projects inclusive of design, procurement, construction, close-out, equipment installation, and commissioning activities.
The Project Scheduler is required to understand and apply procurement and construction concepts, execution, and associated relationships while developing critical path logic.
A review of baseline and in-progress schedules will be required, while collaborating and providing recommendations and reviews with the project team.
The Project Scheduler should be experienced in creating Cost and Resource Loaded schedules by gathering data, validating and incorporating into a project schedule, analyze the schedule impacts and recommend corrective actions to be taken to mitigate/avoid cost and schedule overruns.
Preparation of scheduling/update analysis reporting, including project indicators on a regular basis to the project teams.
This position will also provide input to Virtual Construction processes within our projects with respect to scheduling and how it relates to the building information model (BIM).
The ability to effectively collaborate and work well in a team environment is vital to succeeding in this role, as is having strong customer-facing skills for meeting with stakeholders and conducting schedule reviews.
This position reports to the VP of Operations.
The Project Scheduler also has substantial interaction and may take direction from the Project Director’s.
This is a full time FLSA exempt position.
This position requires 40 work hours per week with the ability to work more if required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Pre-Construction Activities Understand customer specific requirements and assist in preparing pre-construction analysis during project Design & Development.
Assess that project objectives, both short and long term, are being met.
Develop work breakdown structure (WBS).
Creates and updates project schedules, phased plans, and site logistics.
Develop and/or incorporate schedule information from vendors into master program schedule.
Provide detailed analysis of project schedules, from project inception through completion.
Create schedule “What If” scenarios to validate potential change impact.
Perform time impact analysis, and track changes that affect the schedule.
Develop scope document for bidding phase.
Conduct early design review and constructability analysis.
Conduct “pull planning” as needed.
Provides training to execution team on project schedule development and management.
Construction Activities Collect, input, validate and analyze progress in the master schedule, working with our trade partners and field teams.
Provide impact analysis of schedule changes, identify schedule variances and opportunities, and proactively develop mitigation strategies for the Project Management team.
Creates and monitors project submittal logs (as required).
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS: Must have a degree in Civil and Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or 10 years of related experience.
Construction project scheduling experience or similar position: 5 years.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (outlook, word, excel, power point etc.
).
Proficient in the use of both Primavera P6 and MS Project scheduling tool.
Must be familiar with construction concepts and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
Self-motivated team player with mechanical aptitude.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly articulate ideas both verbally and in written communication.
Proficient in cost, manpower and equipment resource loaded schedule.
Proficient at producing S curves and resource efficiency rates.
Proficient in gathering, maintaining, reporting, and analyzing schedule data.
