*Job Description – Scheduler*
*Purpose:*
The production scheduler plans the work schedule of production departments using work order information and available inventory quantities.
The efficient use of resources through production scheduling saves the company money and ensures timely delivery to customers.
Schedulers plan production start dates by beginning with the date materials are available for production while working with customer due dates.
*Job Duties*
* Plan & manage production schedules to meet customer deliver requirements
* Prioritizes orders & decides how the facility will produce each order
* Track progress of production & review factors which affects schedules
* Complete delivery date input, changes and cancellation requests
* Coordinate with departments as needed to resolve issues related to due orders
* Identify and implement system and process improvements within production to enable Overall process improvement
* Analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
* Promote and develop positive communication with customer service to improve forecast accuracy.
* Monitor aged WIP, & Open balances on POs (backorders)

* Customer oriented focus
* Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, concurrent tasks, effectively Action oriented, with good problem solving, mathematical, and analytical skill
* Familiarity with CMS software and Microsoft Office Suite of products
* Experience in production control, planning, inventory control and materials is a key role for the production scheduler
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong math skills a must
*Qualifications:*
* 2 years prior experience in scheduling/operations planning and/or program planning or related scheduling is required.
* Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suites including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
* The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, possess strong problem solving skills and be able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
* Demonstrated ability to understand work flow within manufacturing processes
* Ability to work hours in excess of assigned shift (overtime on week nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays) when required by the business and to meet team goals.
