The BASE Aide attends to children in a school-based childcare program, including observing and monitoring children’s play activities.
*RECOMMENDED EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS* *EDUCATION:* High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
*EXPERIENCE:* Experience with childcare / education preferred; willingness to complete necessary training *CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS:* CPR and First Aid certification required after hire.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* * Work with the other adults in the building towards a positive, productive school environment.
* Assist students with outdoor clothing and hygiene needs (including bathroom accidents and hand washing) * Assist the BASE Supervisor in meeting the cognitive, emotional and physical needs of the students * Facilitate small group and/or provide one-to-one instruction for students * Supervise and assist students with playground equipment and activities * Administer minor first aid (training will be offered for CPR and first aid).
* Escort and supervise individual students and/or groups of students both in and out of the classroom * Check students in and out of ProCare system and/or verify parental release of student * Maintain professional confidentiality both in the school and out in the community * Assist with classroom cleaning (3 step washing process, emptying garbage, mopping) * Other duties as assigned by the BASE Supervisor and/or Coordinator _The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by a person in this position.
